Automatic Off-Hook Emergency Calling

Automatic Off-Hook Emergency Calling lets a phone location automatically initiate a call to an emergency number by going off-hook (lifting the phone handset, pressing an available phone Line Appearance, or pressing the phone Speaker key).

You can select extensions and sites to which this feature will be applied, and you can set the interval between going off-hook and the initiation of the call to the emergency number.

To configure Automatic Off-Hook Emergency Calling, follow these steps:

1. Click Automatic Off-Hook Emergency Call in the left menu.
   If you don't see this option in the left menu, ask your system administrator to enable the "Automatic Off-Hook Emergency Call" option for your company.
2. Enter the target phone number into the Emergency Number field.
3. Enter the interval between going off-hook and emergency call initiation in the Off-Hook Duration field (in seconds).
   The interval should be between 5 and 60 seconds.
4. In the Select Extensions section, select select extension numbers to be configured as Automatic Off-Hook Emergency Call extensions. To add extensions, drag-and-drop them from the Available to the Selected list, use the + button, or click Add all. To remove extensions, use the – button or click Remove all.
5. In the Select Sites select site names to be configured as Automatic Off-Hook Emergency Call sites (all subscribers in the site). To add sites, drag-and-drop them from the Available to the Selected list, use the + button, or click Add all. To remove sites, use the – button or click Remove all.
6. Click the checkbox to confirm that you understand that the affected phones will behave very differently - they will automatically dial an emergency number after going off-hook (after a specified time).
7. Click Save.

• An Automatic Off-Hook Emergency Call applies to the extensions of a logged-in subscriber. When Automatic Off-Hook Emergency Calling is applied to a site, it applies to all phones for site subscribers, including logged-out phones.
• Automatic Off-Hook Emergency Calls will not automatically initiate an emergency call notification.
